Jessica Carlson C.V.T.

Jessica began working at New Castle Veterinary Clinic in February of 2011. She thoroughly enjoys her job because she gets to help those who can’t help themselves.

Jessica moved to Colorado in 2007 to pursue a college degree as a Veterinary Technician. She earned an Associates Degree of Applied Sciences in Veterinary Technology and a Certificate of Proficiency in Animal Shelter Management in 2010 from Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs. While attending college, she adopted a pit bull mix named Chaco from Colorado Animal Rescue.  Before Jessica adopted Chaco, he was under socialized and basically scared of most things/people. Over the years, she has enjoyed training and watching Chaco transform into a confident, secure dog that now loves to greet new people with kisses.

Jessica enjoys gardening, hiking, slacklining, camping, and just generally most things outdoors. She would eventually love to go back to school to become an Animal Behaviorist.  This would help her fulfill her dream to eventually rescue pit bulls who’ve been abused/abandoned and give them a chance to live a happy life.  In time, she would love to start training pit bulls to become therapy dogs in the hope that this could help create a more positive image for these dogs.
